Dies ist eine Cache Serie über die in Kassel verbliebenen
Außenarbeiten der documenta-Ausstellungen.
Die documenta ist die weltweit bedeutendste Ausstellung für
zeitgenössische Kunst. Sie findet seit 1955 ursprünglich alle vier,
heute alle fünf Jahre für die Dauer von 100 Tagen in Kassel statt,
zuletzt im Jahr 2007. Die nächste, die documenta 13, wird vom
09. Juni bis zum 16. September 2012 stattfinden.
Der Name der Ausstellung wird in der Regel klein geschrieben und
mitunter auch als d abgekürzt (beispielsweise d12). Spricht man von
mehreren, ist der Plural documenten der documenta-Ausstellungen
anzuwenden. Die documenta wird – angelehnt an die Ausstellungsdauer
– auch als Museum der 100 Tage

Zur documenta7(1982),unter der Leitung von Rudi Fuchs,
verankerte Claes Oldenburg eine überdimensionale Spitzhacke
(12m hoch) am Ufer der Fulda, eine der wenigen verbliebenen
Skulpturen die von der Kasseler Bevölkerung begeistert angenommen
wurde und aus der eine ganz eigene Ästhetik spricht. Die Spitzhacke
markiert die Stelle, an der die verlängerte Achse der Wilhelmshöher
Allee die Fulda schneidet. Die Idee des Künstlers war dabei, dass
die Spitzhacke von Herkules geworfen wurde. Das Riesenschloß im
Park Wilhelmshöhe mit der Herkules-Statue befindet sich, gemäß der
barocken Park- und Stadtplanung, am anderen Ende der gleichen
Achse. Die Spitzhacke hat nicht den gleichen Maßstab, wie die
Herkules-Figur, da sie allein in ihrer Umgebung wirken sollte. (Auf

heel marks the place at which the extended axis of the
Wilhelmshöher avenue cuts Fulda.The idea of the artist was present
that the top heel was thrown by Herkules. The gigantic castle in
the park Wilhelm's height with the Herkules-Statue is, according to
the baroque park planning and town planning, at the other end of
the same axis. The top heel does not have the same graduation, like
the Herkules figure, because it should work only in her
