Geocache Description:

This cache is placed at a very well known public attraction within the Wits University grounds.

From the puzzle questions, it must be clear which attraction this refers to. They also have there own website, with a link to a website where all the answers to the questions below can be obtained from. Apologies for this cache being a micro, but the terrain/area does not allow for anything bigger. Also, as this is a university and depending on what time you do this cache, this area may be a high muggle area. As they have night time shows here, it should be a nice cache to do at night.

THE CACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE GIVEN CO-ORDINATES. To determine the actual co-ordinates you will have to unravel the following puzzle. Actual co-ordinates to be: S 26 XX.XXX E 28 YY.YYY The puzzle will give you the XX.XXX and YY.YYY.

The Puzzle:

Below are statements about certain of our planets. Write down the name of each planet every statement refers to. Once you have these answers, extract out of each answer the following characters: i.e. If your first answer is Pluto, then the character is “u”.

From answer 1 the 3rd character
From answer 2 the 2nd character
From answer 3 the 4th character
From answer 4 the character following the 2nd character alphabetically
From answer 5 the character following the last character alphabetically
Now convert these characters to numeric values, where a=1, b=2, c=3, …, i=9, but j=0. Substitute these values for XX.XXX
From answer 6 the 1st character
From answer 7 the 2nd character
From answer 8 the character following the 2nd character alphabetically
From answer 9 the character that comes before the 1st character alphabetically
From answer 10 the character following the 2nd character alphabetically
Now convert these characters to numeric values, where a=1, b=2, c=3, …, i=9, but j=0. Substitute these values for YY.YYY

By now you will have the actual co-ordinates, so off you go!
