Geocache Description:

Secluded area on the West Side, flat and peaceful

Hang around for a while and capture the quiet before it is gone. Open canals send water from the mountians to the farmers but they do more than that. They leach water for trees and plants for miles and provide water and habitat for wild life during the dry summer months. This habitat is fast being gobbled up and cemented over..pushing wild life aside with little regard. Treat the terrain with respect, it is home to many critters. Hang around for a while and learn to be still.

This is a Tumalo Irrigation canal. It distributes water from April to September. It is dry through the winter with the exception of periodic week long "stock runs" to fill ponds for livestock and wild life.

Please handle this cache with care that its contents are not spilled.
