Nota Bene is a Latin phrase meaning "Note Well," coming from
notâre -- to note. It is in the singular imperative mood,
instructing one individual to note well the matter at hand. (The
plural is notate bene.) In present day English, it is used
to draw the attention of the reader to a certain (side) aspect or
detail of the subject on hand, translating it as "pay attention" or
"take note". It is often written in the abbreviated form: N.B.
This is the first in a three cache series. To find
NB 2 and
NB 3 you need to "take note" of the coordinates written on the
inside cover of the preceding cache's logbook. If you stop here
your total walk will be about a quarter of a mile. If you stop at
NB 2 the total hike is just over 1 mile. Continuing to NB 3 gets
the total closer to 3 miles.
I hid this short series of caches to highlight the North Mills
River Area, and hope that it will get cachers out here to find
these and other caches. From the parking area -- N 35° 25.219 W 82°
39.399 -- the hike to find all three caches is about three
miles.
You are looking for a small Lock&Lock container hidden about
20 yards off of the trail. The cache only contains a logbook and an
expensive FTF prize, so bring your own writing implement.
