Capt. J.B. Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

rock_rat: Although the memorial sets on public land the owners of the adjacent area seem to view it as a part of their property. I've received a number of messages regarding encounters with the owners which always seem to be hostile. It is a shame that someone would feel like they can take ownership of a monument on public land but to prevent any farther issues I am archiving this cache.

Your friendly neighborhood rock_rat.

Geocache Description:

Captain Booth was a solder in the revolutionary war. He served under George Washington and started the first settlement in the area.

This cache should only take a few minutes although it is not quite a park and grab. There is a short walk to the cache location. You will start your journey at the grave marker for Capt. James Booth. The cache is located on the opposite side of the creek from the marker. The container is a painted Lock N' Lock. Your best bet is to drive across the bridge although at times traffic is light enough you could walk across. There is parking at both ends of the bridge in the form of gravel pull offs.

To find this cache you will need some numbers from the marker.

A = What year was Capt. Booth killed + 13 (i.e. 1968 would be 68 + 13 = 81).
B = What year did Capt. Boot migrate to the valley - 46 (i.e. 1950 would be 50 - 46 = 04).

Your new coordinates will be:

N 39 26.0A
W 080 12.1B
