Geocache Description:

This High Peak cache takes you via Barrow Stones to Grinah Stones. These two locations afford impressive views of different aspects of the Peak District.

WARNING: By seeking this or any other cache placed by me you accept responsibility for your own safety. Caching can be dangerous. Assess the risk for yourself before seeking this cache. Do not attempt this cache in bad weather. It is best not attempted alone. The cache is in a remote location. The terrain can be very boggy in parts.

The cache coordinates point to a location in the general area of the cache. You will need to visit Barrow Stones to determine the exact location.

At Barrow Stones note the year that "S" recorded his visit (see spoiler photo). Add the year to 46300 and divide by 1000 to give xx.xxx. Add 172 to the year and divide by 3 to give yyy. The cache is located at N53 27.yyy W01 xx.xxx.

The cache can be approached from several directions. One possible route up a little-visited but rather nice valley is:
1) Park as per the parking waypoint. At weekends you need to park at Fairholmes and catch the minibus to get to this point.
2) Proceed NW through the wood and then up the hill to the "turn" waypoint.
3) Continue along the "track" over Round Hill and then on to Barrow Stones. Note that this track can be even boggier than the surrounding moorland!
4) Proceed along a faint track to the cache. At this point you can return pretty much the way you came. Alternatively:
5) Continue around the valley on a clear track to the "Blacksmith's Delight" cache.
6) Continue to the "Beware of Jasper" cache.
7) Continue to the trig point SK128932 via The Ridge and then on to the "Castles in the Air" cache. Descend the hill (NE not SW) back to your car.

Note that the cache is not in a dangerous location and does not require any scrambling over rocks.

Take the photo spoilers!
