The Forest of Endor Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

LostBoy1: Its time for me to archive many of my caches. I have left the area for military service and haven't really found other motivated cachers to help with the maintenance of many of my caches. Thus its better to close this chapter. So this is the end to an era, it has been fun and thank you to everyone who has found my caches.

Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series of Geocaches dedicated to Star Wars. Located in Mt. Toby State park, one will find this mission a true test of their geocaching skills. Do you have what it takes to prove that you are a true Jedi Master Geocacher? We shall see.

Return of the Jedi Geocacher

For this cache you will be visiting several locations. This is the true test of your Jedi Skills. Don’t be tempted by the Dark Side. Your Mission is to defeat and destroy the Death Star. In the movie “Return of the Jedi,” one of the highlights was the Battle of Endor. This battle is your destiny.

Secluded in a remote corner of the Outer Rim Territories, the gas giant Endo and its verdant moon of the same name would easily have been overlooked by a busy galaxy were it not for the decisive battle that occurred there. Endor serves as the gravesite of both Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader. It was here that the Rebel Alliance began the path of victory over the Galactic Empire.
Endor was the secret construction site for the second Death Star. Code-named the Sanctuary Moon, Endor was a green jewel that stood out against the dark reaches of space. Rivers wind through the thick canopy of ancient trees, and the forests extend high over the dark floors and the low mountains of the world.
Built in a clearing on the moon was an Imperial installation protected by an entire legion of Imperial troops. A massive shield generator projected a deflector shield around the half-completed Death Star. A daring Rebel strike team, under the command of General Han Solo, was assigned to destroy the generator. With the assistance of the native Ewoks, the Rebels defeated the Imperial troops, paving the way for a victorious space battle. This historic engagement is known as the Battle of Endor.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, A mountain system named Mt. Toby lies at your caching destiny…..
This area resembles Endor. Very lively, with lots of trees and a thick upper and lower canopy. GPS signal is all over the place at times. Readings were taken after a 20min sit time to get the most accurate fix. Descriptions of the areas is good and cords will get you to the general area. Remember this cache is a true test of your Jedi skills.
Your mission is to successfully move through the different stages of Endor and find the final cache, the Death Star. You may visit 3 places you may visit 4 places before you get the final cords. Just remember that before you start your climb or your journey to Tattoonie you will have the final location. Trees are very important here. Fallen ones and upright ones, go back to your Jedi ROOTS of training. IN the first stage you must find Luke Skywalker, as he has the info to your next destination in the forest. He is found near the entrance gate along side one of the nearby rocks.(Around base of rock covered by another rock) The next 2 stages will challenge your Jedi training, and skills. If you come across any Ewoks along your journey, remember that they are on your side. Listen to them as they know this forest and land better than you and will help you find and destroy the Death Star and destroy VADER!
Stage two is the most challenging one. Once you locate the large circles you will be directed to a fallen tree behind them. The tree is long and has a stump in the middle of it. You want to search the general area of this tree, using the stump as a center point I’ll tell you that the cords are located within a 30ft radius. Remember to put things back the way you found them for the next cacher. All clues are located between the fallen tree and the circles.(Look in the roots, stumps, base of tree... Go back to your training as a jedi apprentice)
Stage 3 for you may be one of 2 stops. Either you will be directed to another fallen tree,(Just off the trail on the hillside) or you will be directed to an upright tree. Maybe along the trail on the right, or in a depression along the trail on the left. Either or go back to your BASE and ROOTS, dont let this STUMP you. This is a test of your Jedi skills.
Master Yoda won’t help you much here, but the DROIDS will. C-3PO and R2-D2, have the codes you need to deactivate the deflector shield. Don’t let Chewbacca’s impatience get the best of you, Use the Force! Watch out for the Imperial Troopers and the bounty hunter, they are out to get you, not to help you. Fight the dark side and your geocaching abilities.Ues the Goecache force, you know you have it in you!

Please do not unveil any of this cache in your logs as this is a challenge for all. This cache can be completed by doing the series. And the final cords can be obtained before reaching Tattoonie. Final cache location is nearby the tower at the summit in a large fallen tree. (Behind Tower just off trail, within 200ft +/-)
