Cachers Nightmare!!! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ShadowAce: [red]

While trying to organize a CITO on State Trust Land, we were informed that Geocaching is NOT an authorized recreation on State Trust Land.

I will be sending out as an email to some friends as well as archiving all my caches on state land within the next two weeks.

I was directed to re-read my application for permit:
http://www.land.state.az.us/programs/natural/RecreationPermit.pdf[/red]

The Permittee shall not cause any refuse or allow any other foreign objects to be deposited on State Trust Land.

[red]Geocaching is not allowed on State Trust Land. Anyone can call the State Environmental Resources & Trespass office @ 602 542-2119 and ask to speak with Jody Latimer, Bill Webster or Ken Lamb if they have questions.
jlatimer@land.az.gov

I was told by Ken that in 2007 when he took over the web page there was no reference to Geocaching and never will be because it is covered in the application as leaving behind forien objects.

He (Ken) also tells me they have tried to contact Groundspeak many times but have not received a response.

So. I am archiving my caches with a note and it will go from there, however Groundspeak decides to act on it.[/red]

I will be picking up my containers as I can and will remove any found logs after the date of this posting.

Hopefully Groundspeak can make out some sort of an arrangement with the State Land Office, but from the talking to I got, I doubt it will happen.

Geocache Description:

Ever have a bad day as a cache owner and go check on your cache to find it damaged? Today we replaced two of our containers and set out a couple of new ones..

*sigh*
I pray your caches never befall this fate.

BEWARNED!! Cache container is not friendly, see the image below for proof!!

Some climbing is required to reach the container. When you see it, trust yourself and just search it. All will be well .

Did I mention this cache container can be unfriendly?

We spent a wonderful day out in the hills and around Santa Rita estates getting caches and benchmarks, then we headed south to pickup a cache by our friend Gimli. Afterwards we were heading to the grandparents for some chow and a refreshing moment of family company when we saw a spot that I used to play at as a child.

Step back in time to 1986 and think about this... I used to catch a bus within .1 miles of this location and ride that bus all the way into Tucson for school. Every Day!!!

Yep, I had plenty of time to run through these hills while waiting for that 5am bus ride. Back in those days we only had a handful of neighbors in the entire valley, today it seems like a busy thriving town.

Come on out and take a lunch, the cache will not take long to find, but the location is worth a moment or three. We look forward to reading the logs.

Please do not post images of the container_s, let others get the laugh without a spoiler please
