Geocache Description:

This is a night cache to be found only in the dark. Wait until it is completely dark as the reflectors are really only readily visible in the dark. We believe it is the first in the area of this kind. Located just off a beautiful nature trail, the ground is relatively flat. The coordinates will take you to the trail head from which you will have to follow the glowing orange reflectors to get to the cache!

Be prepared for an exciting time. If possible, bring along something to trade that glows in the dark!! The cache is designed to be found only at night! It is located just off of the Edward Ball Nature Trail on the campus of the University of West Florida. We’ve reserved a parking spot for you, number 628 in Lot “G”, which is located at 30 33.027N / 087 13.274W. The spot should be empty, as you will be visiting at night, after classes. If it's not empty, take your pick of any other close spot.

The cache is a large ammo can. It is full of items that glow in the dark. There is a logbook, bring your own pen for you to log your find.

The coordinates (30.33.142N/087 13.257W) will get you to the trailhead. From there you'll need a flashlight. One of those types you wear on your head works great! Now for those of you who have a 10-gazillion-candle power lamp, leave it at home! This cache only needs a dime store flashlight. A mini-Mag light will work perfectly. You will only bring unwanted attention to your activities with mega bright searchlights and the bright light will wash out the reflectors, making them hard to see.

Watch your step so you don’t trip over branches and brush on the ground. Be on the watch for alligators and snakes…. They lurk in and near the water you will be crossing! (Don't worry, you shouldn't get your feet wet here, unless there have been heavy rains.)

Look for orange reflectors to mark the trail to the cache. They will only be clearly visible at night. To see them best, hold your flashlight at eye level. That's why one of those head lights work so well. Make sure you watch your step and take your time. The trail head is marked by small reflectors. Follow the trail of orangereflectors until you get to the 3 green reflectors on the same tree (about .2 of a mile), then turn and pick up the orange reflector trail again. You will know you're at the end of the trail when you see the orange "smiling" tree. Once there the cache is within a 40 ft radius of the tree. Be sure to hide the cache back so the cache won't be seen in the daylight. Please stand the ammo can upright so the contents won't get wet.

Finding your way back to your vehicle should be relatively easy. Follow the white reflectors back to the trailhead. We hope you enjoyed your hunt!
