About Hoopes Park
Hoopes Park is 16.2 acres named after Josiah Hoopes, one of the three original park supervisors. The park opened in the summer of 1957, so the children of the community would have a place to gather and have a good time.
Mr. Hoopes was instrumental in the progress of the parks and recreation within the community. The first piece of land was purchased from Edward Jackson for one dollar on Dec 20, 1928 and the second piece of land on June 1, 1939 for one dollar. Happy hunting!
