Bring a towel, because your arms will get wet retrieving this
one. Bring a fishing pole so muggles won't think you look out of
place messing with all that water. You'll be on your knees at the
water's edge with your hands in the water.
This cache is located where a line through the center spouts of the
two park fountains intersects the lake's shoreline. There are two
lakes, so there are 4 possible intersection locations. The cache is
located at the shoreline intersection farthest from the posted
parking spot coordinates.
This is a sketch of the cache mechanism (if for some reason it
doesn't show on your screen, it's also loaded into the image
gallery).
Unhook the rope and then let go of it; the cache will surface by
itself nearby. Tying knots anywhere in the tension line will cause
problems in the mechanism operation. The end of the rope will stay
within easy reach (under water).
Unscrew the cache container from the floating cap BEFORE you take
the container out of the water. If you lift the floating cap you
will also move the lake bottom weight. Please don't lift the weight
from the lake bottom. DO NOT PULL THE ROPE FURTHER THAN NECESSARY
TO RE-HOOK IT!
The plastic dish scrubber is NOT a trade item. It keeps the cache
contents from settling into the lake water that inevitably gets
into the container. The scrubber also keeps the cache contents from
falling into the water when you detach the body of the container
from the floating cap, so please make sure the plastic dish
scrubber is the last item to go into the geocache. Also, please
make sure the floating container lid is securely screwed on before
the container is returned to its watery lair.
To return the cache to the depths, screw the container back onto
the floating cap and then pull the rope loop back over to the hook
and reattach it. Make sure the rope is not wrapped around the eye
bolt or tangled with the rest of the rope before you pull it over
to the hook again. The line should move easily. If not, untangle
it.
In case one of the fountains is not in operation, the photo
WaterAndMoreWater.jpg shows where the sight line intersects the
shoreline near two tall pine trees.
I almost named this one Lots More Water in honor of the nearby
cache I found only with the owner's help.
