Geocache Description:

You are looking for a camo lock-n-lock container.

Arriving at the park reference the map at the trail head. Follow the boardwalk and paved trail to the Old Agricultural Field which is in the general direction of the Marshes. When you arrive at the field there is a good chance that you will come across deer. You will notice the deer run as you enter this region of the park. Fort Island Park is located in Fairlawn, OH at the end of Trunko Rd. It is a place of mystery. There are two mounds in the park, Fort Island and Beech Island. Legend claims that the Iroquois Indians killed the remaining members of the Erie Tribe on these lands. The old agricultural field in the upland area of the park was used so extensively that the soil is depleted so that the vegetation in the field is wild grasses, Scattered shrubs and wild roses. The construction of I-77 destroyed a large portion of the field. The remaining portions of the park were placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
