Candy was my Golden Retreiver who sadly died a while back aged sixteen and a half.
I scattered her ashes here last year.
She was my constant companion and we climbed many Munros, Corbetts and Grahams together. Her first foray into the hills was Bennachie and I could think of no nicer or quiter place than here for her final resting place.
The cache site is down a faint path on the North side of Craigshannoch. It is known as Harthill's Cave. From here you get excellent views down to the restored Harthill Castle and across the surrounding landscape.
PLEASE TAKE CARE AS THE ROCKY SLABS TEND TO BE SLIPPERY WHEN WET!!

On the day I scattered Candy's ashes, I took a photograph from inside the cave. When I looked at the images when I got home I got the shock of my life. The silhouette of the right-hand side of the cave entrance looks just like her. I like to think that she is here in spirit.
