Geocache Description:

This is the Preston to Blackburn line and is still in use. So take care when crossing over it!

The crossing is at the site of the old Hoghton Tower railway station - The line itself was opened in 1846 and here and there you can still see stonework of the platforms and station.

Sand was actually worked here till recently and was used in the building industry and in motorway construction. The plantation of firs down on the left was planted to cover abandoned sand workings.

Don't forget to take note of the clue for Pixelation : FINAL
