Did you know that the average person gains 7 pounds between the
Thanksgiving and New Years holidays? The shortened amount of
daylight, busy schedules, parties at work and social get togethers
all combine to help contribute to the battle of the bulge!
This series of six Just DO It! caches will give you a reason to
get out and grab some smileys while helping you work off some of
the extra calories that seem to glom on to our bodies like
barnacles during this season.
I invite you to Walk Down Memory Lane, Stretch Your Imagination,
Exercise Options, Jump to Conclusions, Skate Through Life and Jog
Your Memory while searching for the caches. Before you know it, you
will have walked 3 miles round trip on a nicely paved path, while
occasionally straying no more than 20' from the walkway to search
for the screw top containers.
Parking coordinates are best at Weusthoff Park, off of Barna,
just south of Highway 50. From there, follow the bike path across
Barna Avenue, and enter the trail on the south side of the Fire
Department. The city has now posted signs saying the trails are for
use from dusk to dawn only. Trespassing laws may be enforced during
off hours. You may walk, bike, skate, or jog, but you may not use
any motorized vehicles on this trail. Enjoy, and let's all work to
change that "average" weight gain this season!
