Geocache Description:

The cache is a small clip plastic box located near St Winfred's Well, Woolston.

From the parking area walk WNW up the lane and go through a wooden gate at the end of the lane to your right. Walk down this path to find St. Winifred's Well, please be careful here because the cottage is sometimes occupied. Carry on further down the path and over the foot-bridge to find the cache. The ground can be very muddy after heavy rain so please come prepared, it is not a long walk to the cache, only about 0.15 miles.
St Winifred's Well - a rare example of a holy well covered by a non-religious building, in this case a 16th or 17th century half-timbered building. The water was reputed to be good for healing broken bones, wounds and bruises, and another nearby spring cured eye problems.
It is an idillic location with a lovely sound of running water and the local wildlife.
The original cache contents were:
Fly me to the moon TB
A chick
Mirror
The cache also contains a log book, pencil, pencil sharpener and geocache notice (Please do not remove) The cache can only take small items and please don't put too much in it.
Please be careful of muggles and please try and keep kids and pets out of the Holy Water.
Happy Caching, please leave cache as you found it.
