Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Lewis Morris County Park. Named after the first Governor of New Jersey in 1738. The Park offers many miles of hiking and Mountain biking trails.

The Lewis Morris Park borders The Morristown National Historic Park, Jockey Hollow encampment, where George Washington's Continental Army survived the critical winter in 1779-1780.

The 10,000 soldiers encamped in more then 1000 simple huts built to house the army, and shelter them from the difficult winter.

The NNJC is about promoting a quality caching experience in Northern New Jersey. For information on The Northern New Jersey Cachers group you can click here: http://www.nnjc.org/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1
