The Lewis Morris Park borders The Morristown National Historic
Park, Jockey Hollow encampment, where George Washington's
Continental Army survived the critical winter in 1779-1780.
The 10,000 soldiers encamped in more then 1000 simple huts built
to house the army, and shelter them from the difficult winter.
