Geocache Description:

OBS! Endast silverfärgade föremål får bytas/läggas i gömman!

In the middle of 1800 century one of Öland's biggest treasures was found in Sandby parish. The treasure from the time of the Vikings contained 1122 arabic coins and a big amount jewelry, totally almost six kilos of silver. A November day 1840 found a poor woman from Skarpa Alby a mound with round ”stones” as glittered in the sand in the old grit hole beside the crossing of the main road and the priest street down to Sandby. The silver treasure exists now on Museum of National Antiquities in Stockholm. Have you the same luck to find the silver treasure?
NOTE! Only silver colored objects may be traded/left in the cache!
