Geocache Description:

Pendleton King Park Cache.

This park was donated in perpetuity to the City of Augusta by the Pendleton King family. The family was one of a number of affluent families in the 1830s that shaped the face of modern day Augusta. The family was familiar with the Lumpkin family, one son of which and Governor named John Pendleton King a lawyer to a judgeship. Later he would also be named state senator to complete the unexpired term of George Troup, though he would later resign. The family also had holdings partial or majority in the King Mill, railroads and banks here in Georgia.

Enjoy the Touch and Smell Garden, the Azaleas, the new hydrangea gardens, Lake Elizabeth, tennis, frisbee golf, the tank and totem pole, exercise area, playground with kid size climbing wall, and paved hiking trails. Along with 2 other easy caches and letterboxes hints found on (visit link)
