Over the past several years, I have been releasing a bunch of loosely affiliated caches that I have informally dubbed the "Dark Tower" cache series. If you're one of many people for whom that name doesn't ring a bell, the Dark Tower refers to a Stephen King epic comprising nearly 5000 pages that is part sci-fi, part fantasy, and part spaghetti western. These eight novels chronicle the journey of a group of gunslingers in a futuristic Wild West after most of humanity has died off, and feature an assortment of characters brought in from all corners of the literary spectrum.
The series (of which this is the twelfth) represents an unofficial and unnumbered assortment of caches dedicated to the cast of characters in these books. Hopefully the locations will allow you to imagine, ever so slightly, the desolation of a world that--in Stephen King's words--has "moved on."
The old settlement rotting away in Rustic Canyon certainly conjures up such an image to me: overgrown, decaying, and amazing in its own creepy and somehow sinister way. Exactly, I believe, what King would have dreamed up.
