No, “Lucky and the Woodchucks” is not a rock group from the 60's. Lucky is my dog and woodchucks are, ... woodchucks. Several of them live close to cache. Cache is located along Tonawanda Creek trail. Local geocaching veterans know this trail well. Gary Dog had cache in this area a few years ago. It was one of my first finds. I visit this trail almost every day. With Lucky, of course.
“Lucky and the Woodchucks” is a direct result of October Surprise. I had to do some work around the house after this “memorable” event. Week after week I was cutting wood , splitting wood and building piles of firewood. Ah, know I understand poor woodchucks. To make things even more interesting, in my free time I was cleaning my basement ( happy, happy it was not flooded). Soon I found container and forgotten tube of “liquid nails”.The rest was easy.
Parking : N 43 05 003 W 078 44 019. This is small spot but enough space for 2 -4 cars just in front of Amherst Oakwood Golf course. Please use this spot . Cache should be approached from the trail not from the road. Small bushwhacking is required. It may be worst during the summer. I hope that coordinates are OK. I gave this 2/2 rating. It is probably easier. Keep this cache well hidden.
Be careful, many bikers, joggers etc. This area is busy.
