That's right! It's not worth dying for! It might be worth an envigorating hike and some great scenery, though.
Originally, this was going to be the final stage of a multi. I got too carried away with it and it ended up being 8 parts and over 3 miles long. So I decided to make each of the parts seperate caches, starting with this one.
The container is a small plastic jar that held macadamia nuts in a previous life. It contains a logbook, an assortment of hat/lapel pins, and a geocoin. There are plans to change this to an ammo can in the near future.
If you take entry point #1, this should probably get a 4 for terrain. It is closer to the cache, but it is very steep and there is no trail leading to the cache until you are half way up. All the other paths go away from ground zero. Think twice before you enter here - especially if it has been raining or snowing. There is room for one or two cars to park here, but this is also the snowplow turn around. DO NOT park here if snow is in the forecast.
If you take entry point #2, you have a decent but not overwhelming hike ahead of you. Or, you can take the easy way out and drive up if you are 4X4 capable. If you choose to walk from here, be sure to bring water and wear sturdy shoes.
No matter which entry point you choose, most of what you walk or drive on hasn't been here very long. Everything you see up to the treeline is reclaimed anthracite strip mines.
Enjoy, and BE SAFE!!!
