Geocache Description:

Another easy walk on the Port Hills, near the Sign of the Bellbird

This is a straight forward cache on the Port Hills that can be combined with several nearby for a few hours adventure. This one by itself will be an easy 10 minutes walk from the car park at S43 37.928 E172 37.558 and should be easy enough to find. If you have the time and energy there is an abundance of tracks to be explored in this area. Do keep an eye on the weather though (visit link) and if you can see cloud sitting on the hill from town don’t even bother going up. You are looking for a 200ml camo container no longer with an external disguise, but I have left the remains of it there for interest sake. It shows what the site went through in the Feb 2017 fire. It took me seven minutes to get to the site. Good GPS reception all the way
