Geocache Description:

Another historic spot.

There is a cache calling attention to a place where George Washington slept, The Doremus House, not too far away. Which gave rise to an idea for my compatriot to do an American Heritage Series locally to fufill a requirement of a program. This is one such spot, a Revolutionary War Encampment Site. Please also gaze out on the water, the two large glacial erratics were believed to have been the site of a bridge that the Native Americans used as part of the Minnisink Trail network. I know better their bridge is actually the one painted green--Well it is old and decrepit enough. Just a local history spot, not a real fine cache, but we will try and do better as we book mark the list.tAKE THE NUMBERS THAT YOU FIND ON THE SIGN AND , NOT THE YEAR WHICH IS 1780. AND PLUG THEM INTO THE HINT FOR THE CACHE BOX LOCATION NEARBY.Remember it is nearby-- New Travel Bug Tag for first to find.
