Nota Bene is a Latin phrase meaning "Note Well," coming from notâre -- to note. It is in the singular imperative mood, instructing one individual to note well the matter at hand. (The plural is notate bene.) In present day English, it is used to draw the attention of the reader to a certain (side) aspect or detail of the subject on hand, translating it as "pay attention" or "take note". It is often written in the abbreviated form: N.B.
To find this cache you will first have to find NB 1, and "take note" of the written coordinates in the logbook you find in the cache. That means that the listed coordinates are NOT correct. If you wish, "take note" of the coordinates written in this cache's logbook and keep walking to find NB 3. If you stop at NB 2 the total hike is just over 1 mile; continuing to NB 3 gets the total closer to 3 miles.
I hid this short series of caches to highlight the North Mills River Area, and hope that it will get cachers out here to find these and other caches. From the parking area -- N 35° 25.219 W 82° 39.399 -- the hike to find all three caches is about three miles.
You are looking for a small Lock&Lock container hidden about 20 yards downhill from the trail. Coordinates may be iffy so use the hint. (You may want to try adding 0.005 and 0.010 to the coordinates you found at NB1.) The cache only contains a logbook and an expensive FTF prize, so bring your own writing implement.
FTF HONORS GO TO nbc Mom and jratzlaf!!!
