Geocache Description:

This cache is located at Ole Bull State Park. The walk to the cache is uphill, but well worth the walk due to the scenic value and the rich history of the area. This park is one of the hidden gems in this beautiful part of the state!

Ole Bull was a world renowned violinist from Bergen, Sweden. Looking for a better way of life, in the mid 1800's Ole Bull purchased 11,144 acres of land with the intention of starting his own colony. Many of his fellow Swedes joined him in an attempt to develop the area. Unfortunately, after about 12 months of extreme hardship, most of the Swedish settlers moved further west to other states. In the 1920's, much of Ole Bull's land was purchased by the state, and later converted to what is now Ole Bull State Park. Many of the Swedish origins can still be seen by the names of the local roads and towns.

The location of this cache is close to the foundation of where Ole Bull started to build his "castle". There is a great view, so you might want to bring your camera.

Please do your part and pick up any litter on your travels - Thanks!
