Geocache Description:


Reno may be the biggest little city in the world...

...but Fresno is the best little city in the USA! GO USA!

NAME CHANGE used to be called "Welcome to Fresno"
This cache is located along the road that was once US Route 99 and the Fresno City Limit line would have been several miles south. Fresno was founded in 1872 by the Southern Pacific Railroad and at it's founding was little more than 1 mile square in size. Today the city has grown to be more than 104 square miles and the 6 largest city in California. At what was once the southern entrance to the city on Van Ness Avenue is the Fresno Welcome Arch, I couldn't place a cache there so here's a welcome to those coming from the north along the old highway!
