At a very intersting small park in Roxbury
The Escaped Lab Rat is located in Puddingstone Park. A small, interesting Park in Roxbury. This 5.5 acre park is open from dawn to dusk and locked at other times.
Up until the late 19th century, much of the area was an orchard and a puddingstone quarry. There is a great View of downtown Boston and the Mission Church from here.
Puddingstone, or Pudding stone, is a conglomerate rock made up of a
mixture of different, irregular sized grains and pebbles held together by
a finer matrix, usually formed from quartz sand. The sedimentary rock
is formed in river channels and may contain various minerals such as
chromite, corundum, platinum, diamond, gold, sapphire, and zircon. Its
name is said to derive from a resemblance to Christmas pudding.
There are different types of Puddingstone, with different makeup and
geographical distribution. These include:
1) Hertfordshire puddingstone, principally found in Hertfordshire,
England
2) Roxbury puddingstone, principally found in and around Boston, Massachusetts
Cache has started with $5 for first to find, a jeep travel bug, small cars, and a dragon.
Have fun. Mike
