Ponta Delgada GeoTour (GT491)

The Ponta Delgada GeoTour - surrounded by the nature's grandeur - hopes that each participating geocacher will better understand the Municipality from various perspectives: tourism, religion, history, outdoors. Located on the island of São Miguel in the Azores archipelago, it is a Portuguese city belonging to the Autonomous Region of the Azores with 47,000 inhabitants. Ponta Delgada is the economic capital of the Azores and the largest city of this region. It is the seat of a municipality with 231.90 km² in area subdivided into 24 parishes. This municipality is bordered to the east by Ribeira Grande and Lagoa and has the Atlantic coast to the north, south and west. More than five centuries old, it is a relatively flat, modern and cosmopolitan city and brings together great diversity. Happy geocaching!
