Magic City GeoQuest ~ Dolly Goes to South Park Traditional Geocache

This is 1 of 11 official "The Magic City Train Geoquest" geocaches.

You will need to find, log, and stamp your passport at all 11 geocaches in order to earn a free trackable travel tag unique to this geoquest.

Passports can be obtained in Warm Springs at the Meriwether County Visitor Information Center.

This hide was moved in 2021 due to community tampering with the cache, please see below description of the original location for this hide. It includes a nice history of the area. The new location in 2021 brings you to the entrance of a once thriving industrial park, the South Park Entrance. The city of Manchester, once a thriving railroad hub, also has a history of thriving industry.

This original location for this hide brought you to a location that once stood an iconic hotel named "Dolly Madison"

I'm told that back in the days before the great depression, this 3 story hotel catered to some very influential people that came to the region to enjoy and visit nearby Warm Springs

The hotel was destroyed by fire sometime in the late 40's

I'm still trying to dig up some varified history on this location and will add it when I get confirmation of it's validity
