Geocache Description:

You'll get a two-fer on this one. This is a PolyPhoto virtual cache that takes you very near the Angel's Library Cache (GCC56).

The reason for the overall difficulty rating of 3, is that you'll need some special equipment: You'll need a camera. If it's not a digital camera you'll need a way to create and transmit 4 digital images from your prints or slides. You'll probably also need a printer to print my pics so you can take them with you on the hike.

The coordinates above is the position from which you'll take the last pic. To get the coordinates for the other three pics, visit my webshots community page and find the album called The Road to Angel's Rest. There are more pics up there than just the four you need to take. The four you need to take to complete the cache, have the coordinates in the description.

At each waypoint, take a similar pic from that position. No need to get an exact duplicate, it just needs to be recognizable. You should be able to print small thumbnails of my pics to take with you, if you do the following:

  1. right-click the photo and select Save Picture As...
  2. give it a file name that makes sense and save as a Jpeg (JPG) file.
  3. Open and print the Jpeg.
You can probably print an image good enough for the cache hunt on plain paper, in draft mode. This will save on ink and photo paper.

When you've completed your cache hunt, either post your pics with your cache log, or create your own webshots album (it's free), or post them to your own web site. whichever method you use, be sure to include the url in your cache log. Note: you can post much higher resolution pics to webshots than to geocaching.com. This is Webshots.com's business, so they are geared up to handle hundreds of thousands of high-res pics.

This is a pilot project. If people like it, I'll do more, and maybe others will also.

One more thing, if you need to use up your roll of film, don't let that stop you from logging the "find" if you took the pics. You can post them after you process your film, and just make an "other" log to the cache with the URL. This is purely for fun. I have no desire to get anal about verification of your log; I have better things to do with my life. If someone cheats, it's thier problem, not mine. A few false logs aren't going to ruin my life...:)

Enjoy the hunt!
