Geocache Description:

You might need to borrow, steal, hire or purchase a boat / kayak for access to this one. Else its about a 30m swim across the channel and a short slog in ankle deep water at low tide.

"While your here" searching for "Old man Riley" you might want to have a go at this one to. Its not quite as coastal as the previously mentioned, but interesting none the less.

Hidden in the middle of Rileys island is a man made, rectangular shaped pool or pond. Probably about the size and shape of an Olympic swimming pool. On the day I visited it was at least 2m deep in some sections.

While planning this cache I came across three other sites on the island all of similar description.

Who made this large excavation? Why did they make it? How did they make it? When did they make it? All interesting questions indeed...

As I was leaving I threw a crust of bread from my lunch into the pool, this brought a plethora of foot long mullet to the surface to feed. Maybe Old man Riley was intending to become a fish farmer and stocked this dam long ago? Whats your theory?
