Geocache Description:

A nature walk through the valley. This cache is accessible from state forest and two entry points both off of Rt.322.

If entering state forest from the northeast, the cache is on the same side of Anderson Creek as you are. If you enter the forest from the northeast, enter on the east side of the Anderson Creek. You can park along Rt. 322. It has been reported that there's a trail that takes you in the general direction towards the cache site if entering from this location. It doesn't go all the way so you'll be hiking in the woods for some distance. Mark your entry point so you can hike back. But for the most part, follow the creek off to your right as you head towards the cache. If entering from the northwest (western side of Anderson Creek), you may be entering state forest on the opposite side of Anderson Creek so consider going during a dryer season as you may need to cross the creek if you are entering from the northwest or south. Another approach is down the pipeline. There's a pretty decent trail along the pipeline that any 4x4 or 2x4 truck can handle. But don't attempt that last hill of that trail in any vehicle. When you see the hill, you'll know why. The hike down the pipeline is about 2.5 miles.

In any case, refer to a map for your best approach. The location is a scenic area and is private property.

Use Caution when entering this area. This is Pennsylvania wilderness and there are snakes and various wildlife living here. We have seen snakes ourselves as well as black bear in the area. Snakes are generally found around rocky areas although they can be anywhere underfoot so use caution. The cache is not hidden in a rocky area. If snakes and wildlife are a concern, colder weather is a better time of year to go.
