I’m not an outdoorsy sort of person, and have a terrible sense of direction. But after 30 years or so, I started to lose interest in my main hobby (modern western square dancing) and wanted a new challenge. I stumbled on needle felting, which is very pleasant.
Geocaching though… as soon as I tried geocaching, I was hooked, and told whoever would listen that it’s the best thing since square dancing. You don’t want my hobby history, so I won’t circle around the bush much longer. But I do want to make a u turn back to tell you how I first heard of geocaching. It was very early—I read an article in Games magazine. I didn’t know much about gps then (who did?!), and figured it was like orienteering. My friend Lou did that (hi Lou? how are the nieces and nephews? The little ones must be what? 4 and 3 now?), and with my sense of direction, I figured I’d be hopeless. (Really. I was so bad my blind partner would be in the car saying “Honey, I think you’re going the wrong direction.” Which would have been forgivable were it not always true.) Anyhoo, you want your clues and here I am chattering away like there’s no tomorrow and I’ve only given you two so far. I’ll try to be more concise.
I love that geocaching allows us to pass through so many different places on our hunts—a key box stuck to the underside of a beat up container at a recycle station, a bison in a neatly trimmed shrub in a city’s grand square—the possibilities are endless. The woods are probably my favorite location most of the year. But not in the summer when you have to veer right around the poison ivy, slap away the mosquito, box the gnat, slide through the briars, etc. In the summer I prefer the quick c&d’s, which leaves time to go to the park for a ride on the ferris wheel or even a seesaw.
And there you have it! Ten clues to help you find the coords for this cache. Call the clues A-J in the order they appear. Assign them their appropriate number. The relevant dates are September, 2021 and March, 2019. (If you believe updates have occurred since then and you can't find reference material for these dates, please let me know and I'll update this as needed.) Now just some simple arithmetic.
The cache is at N 39 QR.STU W 75 VW.XYZ
