Geocache Description:

The cache is placed at Hackley Bay which is around 30-40 mins walk from the Stevenson Forvie Centre near Collieston. The centre is part of the Forvie National Nature Reserve and the dunes are one of the largest untouched dune systems in Britain. There is a route map at the centre so you can choose which walk you want to do and you can also find out a lot more information from the centre which is open daily from April to October.

Paths are generally well defined but not ideal for prams etc and please note that once you reach Hackley Bay there is a set of steps on the south side of the bay to take you down to the beach. Access to the cache may not be possible at high tide (although we’ve never had a problem in all the times we’ve visited) but perhaps wise to check tide times before you go or be patient, have a seat and admire the wonderful views.

Parking is available at the Stevenson Forvie Centre which is signposted as you head towards Collieston.

Cache is a regular sized container with two travel bugs, a first to find badge and some other goodies.
