Geocache Description:

On 6/10/06 members of Delaware Geocaching are conducting a program at Lums Pond State Park on GPS and Geocaching. After searching out easy temporary caches, I wanted to end the program by searching for a real geocache so this was created. It should be easy for experienced Geocachers.

Park in the Nature Center parking area (where our program was held)and head west to join the trail around Lums Pond. Then head north on the old dirt service road near the electrical lines easement. The cache is less than 50 feet off of this road.

This cache and the other cache across the pond mark the return of Geocaching to Lums Ponds. A Geocaching picnic was held 4/25/04 and there were over 11 caches in the park. Caches were requested to be removed on 8/3/04 over concerns of damaging the park. Now there is an official permit process for geocaches in state parks and I was warmly recieved by the park staff.

UPDATE 4/21/08 Cache was re-approved by Park and has been moved about 300 feet to be closer to he trail and further away from restricted area
