Geocache Description:

This one will challenge you! Small cache in an obvious, but frustrating spot.

This cache is located in Calero County Park, along one of the trails that leads to the new open space preserve.

No need to brute force this one! The container is in plain sight.

I would suggest a contemplative approach. Observe. Take a leisurely walk around the objects. A keen eye will spot the cache quickly.

About the Preserve: Tucked into the western foothills of Santa Clara County, Rancho Canada del Oro Open Space Preserve boasts beautiful oak woodlands, native grassland areas, and spectacular scenic views. Adjacent to Calero County Park, the preserve hosts two trails: Longwall Canyon Trail (2.7 miles) and Bald Peaks Trail (1.1 miles). Access to the trails is only through Calero Park at Calero Ranch Stables. [see map]

I approached this site as suggested above, but there is a road about 100 yards away. Not sure if it is public or private or what the parking situation is. If someone figures it out, I will post the info here.

Feedback from OGBO about the nearby road:

On your question about the road at "Rock Me" - that's Casa Loma Road, a public road that is a right turn about a mile beyond the horse parking area, just as the main road (McKean) changes name (big sign for the name change to Uvas). There are currently several "house for sale" signs at the turn. The gate I referred to is just as Casa Loma crosses Llagas Creek. There is an earlier gate (wooden) closer to "Rock", but no pullout there. The road beyond the gate is actually named (Baldy Ryan). There is enough room for a couple cars well off the pavement. But, as I noted, the ranger says they have no problem, and you wouldn't get ticketed or towed, except that some of the residents are (his term) "loners" and do not appreciate outsiders on "their" road.
