Geocache Description:

This is one of a planned mini-series and an addition to the many caches in East Leake and surrounding area, hopefully linking up a couple of the existing caches along the walking routes you would take anyway!.
This one is in Costock - Parking tends to be along the road so please be considerate. There is also a good pub right next to Chapel Lane. No dogs allowed in the pub but there is an outside area

This cache is designed to take you exploring along an old part of Costock, not large but pretty. A short stroll along Church Lane takes you to St Giles Church originating from around 1080 but mostly from 14th C. Just past there, at the intersection with Chapel Lane, is The Old Rectory.
This cache around this vicinity. It is wheelchair accessible – although an associate may be needed to retrieve the cache.
Fine for pushchairs and children. Dog walking would be a good ruse here.
It is small box containing a log and pencil and some small swaps for children.

The cache is on public land but overlooked by houses so stealth is needed. One of the local residents is aware of the cache and has been briefed – so if you are challenged please explain what you are doing.
The cache is tucked away and hidden, covered by natural materials.. Please replace carefully so as not to damage the location.

In Chapter IV of Lewis Carroll’s ‘Through the Looking Glass’, Alice encounters a nursery rhyme character who is somewhat argumentative and very sure of himself. Alas Alice knows his true fate. What is it?? The cache is where you might expect to find him at the end of the chapter!
