Well known as the 'Living Ghost Town', Randsburg, California sits on the rural reaches of the high desert between Death Valley and the tail of the Sierra Nevada. Rich mining history, antique shops, historic sights, ancient lava flows, petroglyphs, and plenty open public lands is what this locale offers. California deserts area perfect for tortoise habitat, outdoor recreation, camping and off-roading. Rand Mining District is located north of Los Angeles County in the Kern desert flatlands - where 14 northbound and the Eastern Sierra corridor Highway 395 meet in the northern Mojave desert, conveniently situated on the way to Mammoth and Tahoe.
Bring the kids to watch a real Wild West gunfight and a parade, tour the old jail house, pan for gold, wagon rides, drink from an old fashion soda fountain and of course geocaching!
For the muggles in your life, they can enjoy antique shops or stop inside the Randsburg Photo Studio for old west style pictures!
