Geocaching is the world's largest treasure hunting game, a real-world, outdoor adventure for all ages, that is happening all the time, all around the world. To play, participants use the Geocaching app and/or a GPS device to navigate to cleverly hidden containers called geocaches.

Come join us at the Lecture Theatre to find out:

  • What is geocaching?
  • How do I take part in this hobby?
  • What does a geocache look like?
  • What did you say? - Geocaching Lingo
  • Search techniques
  • What are trackables

Tea, Coffee and Biscuits will be provided.

Three new Perth multi-caches will be released at 11:00am. These mutli's will take you on a journey through Perth, highlighting the shops historical food links between 1870-1914.  Make a day of it and seek them out.

For those who complete these three new caches on this event day only, there is a limited edition specially designed trackable Geocoin to be earned. To obtain this you will be required to register at the museum before you head out, and then confirm your finds back at the museum again by 16:30. The geocoin will then be sent out to you at a later time.

Perth Museum and Art Gallery is one of the oldest purpose-built rotunda museums in the UK having opened in 1824. The museum collection will be moving to its new venue in 2022, within the redeveloped Perth City Hall.
