Geocache Description:

Cache in confines of the Norman ‘All Saints’ church at Sutton Bingham. (Entry to church not necessary)

The church contains medieval wall paintings of ‘The Death, Burial and Coronation of the Virgin’ Circa 1300, more info inside, and is open during day (Time Locked).
Church services normally morning 1st & 3rd Sundays of month.
The village met its end in the 1950s, as the reservoir which opened in 1955, claimed most of it. 8 Houses now remain of what was a small village, with its own station. (1861 census reported 67 inhabitant).
The reservoir is now a sailing, fishing and bird watching Mecca, so any twitchers among you don’t forget your bins.
Suggested parking is on the causeway at N50 53.953 W002 38.751 (ST547113) which gives great view of reservoir and is 200yds from cache.
There is a picnic area/toilets at the opposite end to bridge but if you park in there you will have to return to road and access track to church just beyond. (Joining gate now padlocked)

Cache is 0.7lt and not suitable for large items
