Geocache Description:

The San Gabriel West Fork bike path... about as easy a paved path as you'll ever find that also follows a river. A nice family outing.

One of my favorite family bike paths is up hwy 39 north of Azusa. There is a huge parking area that packs up in summer for all the swimmers but there is also a paved 8 mile bike path that will take you to Cogswell Dam. You know you're getting close to the parking area when you pass by an offroad recreation area.

This cache is a 4" x 12" cammo'd plastic tube and has lots of goodies to start you off. Yes you'll have to bike in about 6.4 miles but the view is gorgeous and the elevation gain pretty low. At 10mph it's about 45 minutes in, but you'll want to take at least twice this long to play around waterfalls and watch the fishermen. You'll fly out in 25 minutes.

This place is designated a wild trout stream... catch and release only, and barbless hooks! Glenn campground is a great place for lunch and relaxing (plus that bathroom break). You can continue up the road (not required) steeply! for another mile or so to Cogswell Reservoir. Great views here!

Enjoy.
