Geocache Description:

General Robert E. Lee's Command post during Battle of Fredericksburg, December 1862.

Third in a series of little known Civil War sites around Virginia.  The Confederates had excellent ground. The Federals were paying a terrible price trying to take it. Watching events unfold much to the southern advantage, General Lee remarks to General Longstreet- "It is well that war is so terrible- We should grow too fond of it." This is where he said it. Prove you found it: How many artillery pieces occupy the site today?
