Geocache Description:

Well, we’ve reached double figures in this growing series and this one is placed very close to the cricket ground; in the warmer months you will be able to see matches not far from GZ. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WRITING IMPLEMENT - THE LOGBOOK MUST BE SIGNED. Please be very stealthy, as this is a busy road, muggles will be frequent. Just a quick tip: this cache is in a car park that has a barrier, so you may wish to park elsewhere as once inside this one, you need to pay to leave.

This lovely cricket ground in Newton Abbot is actually home to South Devon Cricket Club and they play in the Devon West league. There is a very friendly, vibrant atmosphere here and a good collection of silverware.

For those of you who who do not follow or understand cricket, here is a brief explanation of why this cache is called what it is. An ‘over’ is a set of six balls bowled to the batsmen at the opposite end of the pitch. If no runs are scored in a particular over, that is said to be a maiden over.

If you are interested in expanding this series and placing a cache near to your local cricket ground, please message me, OffTheRails, via this website to obtain a series number and use the ‘Maiden Over # -’ prefix when naming your cache and the explanation outlined above. If you can add a photo that would be great too. There is also a FB page, so do visit and ask to join.
