Crayke Castle is a stone motte and bailey, it was an important fortress for the Bishops of Durham. In the bailey, the 15th century Great Chamber survives intact and behind this four-storey tower-house, stands the motte and the ruins of the 'New Tower'.

The cache is a small lock and lock container with a notice on the lid. It can be approached by car. It will take coins, badges etc.
When first hidden the cache contained:-
- A disposable camera (please take photo and leave in cache)
- A log book and two biros (please leave in cache)
- A grab bag of kinder egg toys
- Postcards of the nearby town
- Car Stickers of the local newspaper
- Grinch Interactive CD Rom
