Geocache Description:

This cache was placed as part of the McHenry County Conservation District's Cache Your Way Across McHenry County program.  You do not need to be part o the program to seek this cache but please leave the informational card inside the cache intact for those who are!

Elizabeth Lake is also an archelogical site. Items found on the site date back to 1550 BC - 990 BC, knwn as the Archaic Period. Items found inclide arrowheads, pipes, anvils, toolsfish hooks and gorgets. What is a gorget?

Site closes at the first significant snowfall.

Site is open sunrise to sunset.  Please remain on designated trails until you are near the cache.

One parking lot will make it a quick, short find.  The other one will take you a nice hike and near other caches on the site.
