The Nene Way Series

The Nene Way footpath starts at Badby on the western borders of Northamptonshire. It meanders along the river and takes you through small villages and towns following the Nene Valley for 110 miles. It passes through Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire before joining The Wash near Sutton Bridge. The route was opened with the support of the Countryside Commission in the late 1980's.

The walk from Nassington to Yarwell Mill takes you through open fields and along the banks of the river. Although empty when I was setting the cache, I would think sheep or cattle will be grazing in some of these fields later in the year.
If you follow the sign 'To The Train' over the bridge you'll see the 'End of the Line' - the end of the old railway embankment straight ahead.
The path leads you round to Yarwell Junction, which is the real end of the line of the 'Nene Valley Railway'.
Trains run from here through Wansford, Ferry Meadows and Orton Mere to Peterborough (Nene Valley) Station.

The cache is in a small .25L Lock&lock type box, with log book and the usual swaps etc.
You don’t need to move anything to retrieve the cache, so please remove and replace it carefully to keep it well hidden.
When setting the cache the path was very muddy near Nassington and Yarwell Mill,
so walking boots or wellies are advisable after heavy rain.
Please take care with children near the river.
9th June 08 - After the cache had been muggled it was replaced in the same place but with a slightly bigger box so might not slid in & out of hiding place. Please replace carefully and make sure any nearby vegetation moved is replaced to keep it hidden.
