Geocache Description:

The mobile phone coverage is bad in this valley therefore no internet available, make sure you save any info you may need on your device before you go.

This valley is probably my favourite place on this island so when I was given the opportunity to place a virtual cache it was easy to figure out where it was going. I then had to think about little logging tasks. Tis a bit daft but the sheep won’t mind.

The Wild Atlantic Way or in Irish, Slí an Atlantaigh Fhiáin is a 2,500 km (1,553 mile) driving route along the west coast stretching from Inishowen in County Donegal to Kinsale in County Cork. It was a tourism initiative set up in 2014 and along the route there are 157 Discovery points like the one here and 15 Signature discovery points.

Logging Requirements

Seeing as you are on this stretch of the wild Atlantic way on the west coast and checking this place out I want to see proof that you were here throwing shapes and paying attention. This will involve a pair of simple tasks. While I'm not squeamish you don’t have to show your face in photos taken here, but I do want to see proof that you were there.

I want to see a picture of you or your group in front of the Steel WAW discovery sign with the valley in the background. As mentioned, if you're shy you don't have to show your face, it could be just your hand, something with your geocaching name, GPS device etc...

This next suggestion isn't a requirement but you will get bonus points and have a warm fuzzy feeling inside if you manage to show me your best effort at a west coast hand sign and have sheep or midges in the picture with your log.

On the info panel at this location, above right of the illustration called ‘casting a dark shadow’ can be seen the phonetic spelling of the name of this place in Irish. Message or e-mail me the exact spelling as it appears there.
