Geocache Description:

We have been watching the proliferation of solar panels popping up all around the Trenton area lately and we have wondered what brought this on.

We thought that these installations would be an interesting focus for a series of caches.
Note that none of these caches are located on the solar panels themselves as these are private property as well as delicate and expensive.

This innovation seems to have been spurred on by a program by the Ontario Power Authority called the Feed-In Tariff (FIT) or the Micro Feed-In Tariff (microFIT) programs.

The program is targeted at non-commercial applicants to encourage small installations distributed throughout Ontario there by limiting distribution losses.

Many people seem to be taking advantage of these programs and solar panels are popping up all over the place.

At this location you are looking for a camouflaged 35mm film container with a log.
Across the road in a farmers field you can see some solar panels in action.

Feel free to place your own Goin’ Solar caches.

Congratulations justjoee on First to Find!
