Geocache Description:

A parallel is an imaginary east-west line connecting all points with the same latitude. It can also mean those lines that have an exact integer latitude.

This cache lies exactly on the 35th Parallel, easily accessed off Fort Irwin Road.

This cache placement was inspired by Tortoise Confluence (GC33FF) which is hidden nearby, and Unused Minutes Challenge (GC1VPEV) which challenges you to find parallels and meridians. I loved the concept of hiding a cache exactly on a parallel or a meridian. With a bit of experimenting on Google Earth I found that the 35th Parallel ran across Fort Irwin Road through an empty lot I've been wanting to hide a cache in. So here is the 35th Parallel cache!

The cache is not difficult to find. It's a small nut jar hidden just off of the dirt lot at the intersection of Fort Irwin Road and, well, Fort Irwin Road. As with any desert cache please watch for critters. Also please cover the cache well when you are done. Enjoy!
